Ingessana or Teda throwing knife / throwing axe, most likely from the Tibesti massif in the central Sahara, mid 1800's. The leather on the grip is a repair, and the walnut display plaque is modern. Scholars are still debating whether these weapons were predominantly hand held or predominantly thrown, but you have to admit either way that it's one nasty customer.
