14 gauge steel topfhelm - an early style of great helm worn through the 13th century. This was before the advent of the visor, so knights would typically wear this larger helmet over a cervelliere or a open face bascinet, or just over a maille coif or an arming cap. On a particularly hot day in Outremer, they could take off the larger helmet and still be protected. Ready to wear, with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap. Weight: ~8 lb 4.0 oz.
