Small arm/sleeve daggers such as this one were/are popular throughout the Northern Sahara. There are minor regional variations to each style of dagger - this one is identifiable as Ethiopian from the shape/configuration of the girp/hilt, which matches several Ethiopian shotel swords and daggers in Therion's collection. Interesting two-tone ebony wood used for the grip. Typical mid-rib overlap blade, tough and sharp. Late 1900's.
