Popular in Persia and throughout the Middle East, the kard is used as a utility knife, weapon and status symbol. This splendid example is made with the same care and methods as the originals. The blade is 512 layer Damascus steel with a reinforced spine for punching through chain mail armor. Nickel silver bolster and pommel. The grip is camel bone, the sheath, which accepts the knife well past the blade, is wood covered with leather.
